The golden sand of Playa de las Teresitas stretches for almost one mile (1.5 kilometres); palm trees sway in a gentle warm sea breeze and the beautiful calm waters are perfect for taking a dip to cool off. Welcome to what is widely regarded as one of the nicest beaches in the north of Tenerife.

Sitting below the Anaga Mountains just outside of the capital Santa Cruz in the village of San Andrés, this beach is captivating and a great place to chill out and enjoy the sunshine. Please bear in mind that a place with such a good reputation tends to get fairly busy, especially at weekends. Even with its popularity, Playa de las Teresitas remains unspoiled and could easily be mistaken for a part of the Caribbean coastline.

There is always something going on, too. Perhaps you will join in with a game of volleyball or take part in yoga and aerobics classes that regularly take place on the sand? Facilities are good, with plenty of sunbeds, sunshades, showers and a selection of bars and restaurants just next to the beach.
