This summer, Tenerife has 18 new direct air routes (4 national and 14 international) that will increase the island’s connectivity, which is essential to its economic and tourist development.
An 8% increase in the arrival capacity of the Tenerife airport system is also expected, with about 4.5 million seats (or 5.3 million, if interisland flights are considered).
The new national routes that start now are: from Tenerife South - Asturias (Vueling), Bilbao (Norwegian) and Vitoria (Ryanair); and from Tenerife North - Alicante (Evelop). The flight programme for this summer also includes 14 new international connections, all from Tenerife South: Stockholm, Düsseldorf and Rome (Norwegian); Frankfurt and Newcastle (Ryanair); London Stansted and Birminghan (Jet2.com); Lille and Brno (Travel Service); Bucharest (Wizz Air Hungary); Nuremberg (Germania); Nantes (Vueling); Hamburg (Niki) and Marseille (Tuifly).
