In the first quarter of 2017, there was a slight 0.4% reduction in the number of foreign customers (1,135,091) who stayed in tourist accommodation on the island of Tenerife, compared to the same period of the previous year.

However, the island’s 5-star hotels have experienced a 6.1% increase in the number of customers, and the number of Brits also followed the upward trend. During the first three months of this year, there was a 0.8% increase of tourists from the UK, reaching 462.051 British people housed on the island.

These data were prepared by the Cabildo de Tenerife, analysed by the Department of Tourism Research of Tenerife and released by the Receptive Tourism Statistics.
