Good quality medical care is available from a variety of hospitals, clinics and medical centres all over the Canary Islands. In Tenerife, there are a number of options available to holidaymakers, should you need medical attention.
In the unlikely event that you need any kind of hospital treatment, Spain-Tenerife strongly advises full travel insurance to cover all eventualities. The EHIC (European Health Insurance Card) allows all EU residents to have access to state-provided health care at a lower cost or entirely free of charge. You can apply for this card at no cost. Many medical centres use doctors who can speak other languages, the state hospitals provide a translation service and private hospital’s also have an interpreters’ department.

Spending some time in the sunshine and relaxing in the warm ocean can do wonders for your health as well as being very good for the soul!
