Tenerife offers an abundance of shopping from high-end designer labels to fantastic bargains at low-cost prices. All over the island you will find shops geared towards holidaymakers. There is also a huge selection of well-known fashion stores, retail outlets, shopping centres, supermarkets, open-air markets and much more.
Generally, larger shops such as department stores, commercial centres and clothing shops open Monday to Saturday from 10:00 to 22:00. Supermarkets tend to open from 9:00 to 20:00 six days a week and are closed on Sundays. However, smaller supermercados and convenience stores open from 8:00 – 13:00, close for a break and then re-open from 16:30 to 20:30.
In the larger resorts, some shops and fast-food places are open until the early hours of the morning.
Restaurants normally serve lunch between 13:00 and 16:00 followed by dinner from 18:00 and 23:00.
Many Governmental offices and banks will open only in the mornings.
Museums have very varied opening times and churches are totally unpredictable.
