El Bollullo is a gorgeous unspoiled natural beach in the scenic La Orotava Valley in the north of Tenerife.

The journey to this Puerto de la Cruz beach may take a little time but it is well worth it – a hidden gem in a wonderfully secluded spot.

Narrow roads and pathways lined with banana plantations lead to the entrance of the beach, followed by steep steps that take you down to the large expanse of volcanic sand.

This is a beautiful large bay that is surrounded by dramatic cliffs. The scenery is sublime, the water is pristine, the sand is soft; the setting could not be more perfect for a tranquil day on the beach.

A bohemian-style hut café overlooks the ocean and is a great place to sit and watch the world go by.

This beach is not protected by any reefs so waves and currents can get strong at times.
